Attendance Information In order to excuse a student from school, parents/guardians are requested to call the Attendance Hotline at 503-431-5221 or email twalityattendance@ttsd.k12.or.us  Please note that automated attendance calls go out twice daily if a student has one or more unexcused absences on that calendar day - once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Back To School Night - 9/18  We hope that you will join us at 6:00 PM on Sept 18th. It is a great opportunity for you to meet and greet your student’s teachers and find out what your student will be doing for the school year.

Class Schedules TTSD will have schedules available via StudentVue and ParentVue August 26th.

Counselors  Counselors are assigned by grade level and travel with that cohort of students during their three years at Twality.

  • 6th Grade - Brittany Volk  bvolk@ttsd.k12.or.us
  • 7th Grade - Makenna McMillen  mmcmillen@ttsd.k12.or.us
  • 8th Grade - Sue Porter  sporter@ttsd.k12.or.us
  • Social Worker – Brandon Alik balik@ttsd.k12.or.us

Drinks Policy  Students are encouraged to hydrate throughout the day for their health and wellness. We encourage families to provide water bottles that can be completely sealed to minimize spilling and damage to the school facility and equipment.  This excludes cups from Starbucks and Dutch Bros with lids that hold straws or any pop-top cans. Students who bring these to school will be asked to finish them or dump it out at the beginning of their first class (8:30 Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri; 9:30 on Wed.).

Energy drinks need to stay at home. The Center for Disease Control lists dehydration and increased anxiety as just two of the harmful side effects adolescents experience as a result of consuming energy drinks, while the American Academy of Pediatrics states that caffeine and other stimulant substances contained in energy drinks have no place in the diet of children and adolescents. Our own experience is that students can’t focus, and then crash hard when they consume them. They aren’t supporting student health, they aren’t helping our students learn, they are unwelcome on our campus.

Staff will confiscate energy drinks when students have them in  class or common areas. Unopened containers will be returned at the end of the day. Open containers will be dumped and disposed of.

Food Policy

  • Breakfast and lunch from the cafeteria are FREE! Every TTSD student can get one free breakfast and one free lunch every day. Lunch is an entree, fruit/veggie and milk for any student at no cost.
  • At Twality we do not accept meal deliveries for students through Doordash, UberEats or any other delivery apps. If food or beverages are delivered for a student, we put it aside until the end of the day and the student can pick it up from the office at 3:10.
  • If your child forgets their lunch parents can bring the forgotten lunch box, or a purchased lunch for their child [but ONLY their child], and the student can come and pick it up from the office at their lunch time. Again, we ask that you do NOT order food for delivery to Twality; your child will not get it until the end of the day-but they WILL be offered a school lunch at no charge.
  • Students may NOT bring snacks, energy drinks, or candy to sell at school-TTSD Board policy EFA.

Lockers All students have access to a locker and will be distributed the week of Sept 8th.

Medication  Our school district’s medication policy requires that adults be in control of medication at all times in the school setting.

Only parents/guardians can deliver a student’s medication to school. Students may not bring their medications to school and deliver them to the office. Although this may be inconvenient for parents/guardians, it is necessary to comply with district policy to ensure our students’ safety.

All medications must be in the original container with the original label (the label is not allowed to be changed by parents/guardians).

Prescription medications must include the correct dosage and time.

Over the counter medication such as Tylenol, allergy pills, etc., must also be in the health room and not with the student. The dosage must be appropriate to the student’s age and weight as indicated on the label.

Before a medication can be given at school, you must complete the Medication Administration form available in the main office.

Newsletter  The Twality News & Events newsletter is one of the best ways to receive up to date weekly information. The newsletter goes out each Sunday at 5:00 pm to start your week with what is happening at Twality.

ParentSquare ParentSquare is for school communication, primarily with e-mail, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred e-mail address and phone number. If your student is enrolled, then you already have created your ParentVue account. If you need assistance in how to use ParentVue or have forgotten your username and/or password, please contact Lynette Biglow at lbiglow@ttsd.k12.or.us
